I am an artist, sculptor and tutor living in Hampshire, England. Creating works in Polymer clay, Pal Tiya Premium (a concrete based clay), acrylics, oils, watercolour, charcoal and chalk pastel.
I am a certified UK Pal Tiya Premium Teacher and I run Polymer Clay and Pal Tiya Premium workshops in and around the Basingstoke area, as well as running a local craft group. I also take the occasional pet portrait commission.
I studied art and design while growing up South Africa, where I developed a love for the natural world and wildlife. When I returned to the UK I went on to study with the London Art College, receiving a distinction in Children’s Book Illustration, which led to me illustrating a children’s book for a local author.
When my children were younger, I took a break from my artwork to focus on family life, however when my desire to create something again could no longer be ignored, I rediscovered Polymer clay, which can be cleared away quickly and easily (useful when you have small children or not much space), and can baked in a home oven.
Several years later I discovered a new all-weather sculpting material clay, Pal Tiya Premium, which allows me to sculpt much larger outdoor pieces without the need for a kiln. Both mediums are completely addictive and I tend to sculpt more than paint these days.
My earlier work can be found under the names Heather Frost and Heather Dickhart.
